True Caller ID with Hiya

May 31, 2016

Pick up or ignore? Now, the options of answering that unknown phone call are made clear. Hiya has created an app that pulls from a huge directory to flag spam or robocalls going to your mobile phone and they are saying hello to the world with fun logo stickers.

Whitepages has spun off their Caller Id app into a separate company called Hiya. There sole focus is on having full disclosure of calls coming in to your phone so that those scams that spread, pushy sales people and more are all identified.

"Hiya has more than 600 million active mobile and landline numbers in the US and over 1.5 billion unique numbers on a global scale. So yes, we can tell you who’s on the other end of the line, regardless of whether they are in your contacts. We’re taking the guess work out of “to answer or not to answer.” Whether you want to avoid that distant relative is completely up to you."

As Hiya launched at the end of April, they printed up some custom shaped logo stickers and a clear sticker with white ink of the person waving hello. The stickers are a great way to get more people familiar with the new brand and download the Hiya app, which has already had over 25 million downloads.

Here is a quick preview of how Hiya works:
