Travis Kidd is an award winning singer/songwriter from the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, influenced by the sound of the "southern rock" and "roots rock" movement of the 1970's....Kidd may be a new name and face on the Texas music scene, but in actuality, he’s a seasoned veteran with a 10 year history as a full time musician. Based in Tulsa, Kidd has gathered a flock of loyal fans throughout Northeast Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado and is primed and ready to expand his reach across the Red River and beyond. Averaging over 150 shows year, both with his band and as a solo performer, Travis has built a reputation not only as a strong songwriter and magnetic entertainer, but also as one of Tulsa’s most underrated guitar players. Recently added to the Smith Music Group stable of artists, Travis Kidd’s newest CD, Mid America, isn’t so much a warning shot as an introduction to the man and what makes him tick.
Now doesn't that just make you want to crack open a cold one and start tapping your toes to some great live music? Or heck, if you're really feeling it, we think Kidd's music could make a stepper out of even the stiffest of citizens. So tell us, readers: what's your jam? Do you two-step down in Texas, rock the Shag, or kick it Chicago style? Or are you a youngin' who can Dougie with the best of them? We don't want to boast, but our rendition of the Urkel at the last office party still has people talking. And don't even get us started on our version of the Hustle. Sure, keep on doing the Running Man til the DJ runs out of gas. We'll be owning the floor with the rest of the cool kids. That's right: it's Peanut Butter and Jelly Time. That one brings all the boys to the yard.
