Whether your mode of self-propelled travel is biking, hiking, walking, or running—you've probably used a trail at some point. Less than a road but more than a footpath, a trail is both a means of getting somewhere as well as the purpose of travel itself. Creep through the woods, follow a river, cross a prairie, climb a mountain—that's what trails are good for. Luckily for the occupants of the Land of Lincoln, Trails for Illinois has been working hard to help them hit the trails, literally!
Illinois has a great network of trails in place, and opportunities to build and connect to more. At stake is only the well-being and happiness of our citizens—which we now know depends upon regular outdoor physical activity. Trails for Illinois is building a statewide trails community that will integrate trails and trail experiences into Illinois work, play, life. Our mission: to enhance the quality of life in Illinois by connecting the state’s communities and countryside with an interconnected, multi-use public trail network, and by promoting the use of trails for recreation and transportation. Our vision: that every Illinoisan can routinely access safe, active, and enjoyable outdoor trail experiences within 10 minutes of where they live. We want to make your doorstep and driveway your trailhead! We here at StickerGiant are soooo lucky to have so many trails at our disposal. From the 500-mile Colorado Trail through the Rockies to the San Juan Hut Trail on the Western Slope, we really have no excuse to be lazy, out of shape, or stuck indoors. Which is great unless you're lazy, out of shape, or...stuck indoors.
