Til Valhalla Project: A Mission of Remembrance, Support, and Hope
November 1, 2024

“With our stickers, it’s rare to go a day without seeing someone sharing a message of hope.” -Korey Shaffer, Founder of Til Valhalla Project and Marine Corps veteran

Til Valhalla Project, founded by Marine Corps veteran Korey Shaffer, is more than a memorial initiative—it’s a powerful movement honoring fallen heroes and supporting veterans struggling with mental health. Through memorial plaques, merchandise, and Custom Stickers that carry messages of resilience, Til Valhalla Project provides a unique way for families and supporters to remember those who have served.

Korey Shaffer’s Journey to the First Plaque

Korey’s path to founding Til Valhalla Project began with a difficult transition from military service to civilian life. Injuries sustained during his service cut his career short, leaving him struggling to find purpose and direction. While coping with the challenges of readjustment, Korey faced a devastating loss—the tragic suicide of his close friend and fellow Marine, Cpl. Benjamin Dunston, who had lost his battle with mental health struggles. Determined to keep his friend’s memory alive, Korey created a memorial plaque for Cpl. Dunston—a deeply personal tribute that soon became the foundation of a much larger mission.

Inspired by the military phrase “Til Valhalla,” which means “until we meet again” and symbolizes the promise to honor fallen comrades, Korey expanded his mission to honor heroes lost both abroad and at home. Today, Til Valhalla Project embodies this pledge by preserving the legacies of these heroes and supporting mental health initiatives for veterans, ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

A Growing Mission Rooted in Honor and Remembrance

What began with one plaque quickly turned into a nationwide movement. As Korey shared more plaques with families of fallen heroes, he felt a renewed sense of purpose that he hadn’t experienced since his days in the military. Word spread, and families across the country began reaching out to request plaques in honor of their loved ones. Each plaque is hand-made and hand-delivered to families at no cost, funded by Til Valhalla Project apparel sales, reflecting Korey’s belief that families who have already given so much should never have to pay to honor their heroes.

Today, Til Valhalla Project has grown far beyond Korey’s garage. The organization has delivered thousands of memorial plaques, funded mental health support for veterans, and built a loyal following that stands behind the mission. Alongside honoring fallen heroes, Til Valhalla Project donates a portion of its proceeds toward life-saving therapy for veterans at risk, helping to reduce suicide among those who have served. With a team of veterans and supporters, Til Valhalla Project has become one of the fastest-growing veteran-owned brands in the country, driven by a passionate community committed to preserving the legacies of America’s heroes.

Stickers That Speak Volumes

In addition to plaques, Til Valhalla Project has found a unique way to spread its message through custom stickers that bear powerful affirmations like “Keep Moving Forward” and “Do Not Give In To The War Within.” Korey shares, “The messages on our stickers are often words we personally need to hear or things we wish we could have said to someone we lost.” These stickers have become widely shared symbols of resilience, seen on laptops, cars, and windows across the country. “Now, with our stickers, it’s rare to go a day without seeing someone sharing a message of hope,” Korey adds. For many, these stickers serve as daily reminders of strength and support, connecting individuals to a larger community and mission.

A Future Committed to Honoring and Healing

Looking forward, Til Valhalla Project is dedicated to expanding its impact even further. With plans to double plaque deliveries, increase funding for therapy, and launch new designs to foster open conversations about mental health. They remain steadfast in their commitment to honoring fallen heroes and supporting veterans in need. Korey and his team recognize that Til Valhalla Project’s growth and impact are made possible by supporters who share this vision. “You’re what makes this mission great; I just created the vessel,” Korey emphasizes.

As Til Valhalla Project continues to grow, its mission of remembrance, mental health support, and community remains as strong as ever, fueled by the dedication of Korey, his team, and the supporters who ensure no hero is ever forgotten.
