The Sunrise Stampede's Big 30

June 19, 2015

The sun will rise tomorrow on the 30th annual Longmont Sunrise Stampede. The stampede is a fun, family oriented run that helps support special needs students in the St. Vrain Valley School District.

The great part of the Longmont Sunrise Stampede is even if you aren't in 10k shape (few of us are), they have an option to do a run, or walk, 2 mile loop. This is great for families to bring their kids out in support of the community. The race has raised nearly $200,000 for St. Vrain Students and is a great local tradition.

The course gives a great view of Longmont, Colorado with the starting line in the center of town near Longmont High School and looping all the way out to the western edge around McIntosh Lake and back again. There are also some cash prizes and giveaways for top finishers in different age groups.

Enjoy the Colorado weather tomorrow and get outside and run. Don't forget to grab an awesome, color logo sticker to commemorate the experience!
