Get ready to plug a new address into the GPS.
There's a cool new brewery coming to Charlotte, North Carolina ... Sycamore Brewing.
These folks are flying under the radar. While Sycamore's building out their social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, information on their new venture is scant. It's a tantalizing tease of their ales, leading up to the brewery's opening this fall.
Sycamore's awesome logo was designed by Kendrick Kidd. Their sticker uses a beefy tan sans-serif type over a dark green sycamore leaf with a thick white outline and snappy die cut. The typographic envelope and arc treatments are subtle. This was clearly built to stand the test of time.
It's crisp. It's clean. It's an instant classic.
One of these days, I'm going to convince the boss that we absolutely must do a Great American StickerGiant Beer Road Trip. We'd hook up an Airstream trailer to a domestic biofuel-powered pickup truck, designate a driver, head out on the open road, and visit our friends at scores of breweries across this great land.
We wouldn't slap a brewery's sticker on the land yacht until we've sampled the brewery's offerings. And we'd shoot videos. Lots of videos. Kinda like Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, but without the comedians or the coffee. Just a bunch of blokes and a lot of beer.
How cool would that be?
