Surf's Up At Ocean State of Mind in Rincon, Puerto Rico
StickerGiant-Ocean-State-of-Mind-Hola-Die-Cut-2019-blog Ocean State of Mind offers quality apparel, jewelry & accessories inspired by their island home Rincon, Puerto Rico. This rainbow-fringed, custom-shaped shaka sticker with the phrase "Hola" gives a nod to the surfing paradise that is Rincon on the western end of the island. Jules, the person behind Ocean State of Mind, says she's always been an artist, whether that's working with  jewelry, photography, stained glass or other mediums. She grew up in Rhode Island, known here in the continental United States as the "The Ocean State," and that's where she came up with the concept. After all, the ocean's always been a big part of her life, and it shows through in the products and branding of Ocean State of Mind. Before settling in Puerto Rico's surf capital, Jules lived on Maui, soaking up the island style of living and bringing that inspiration into her jewelry design. While she's a self-taught artist, she also has taken classes at Rhode Island School of Design, including jewelry design and medal smithing. As a small, independent business owner, designer, and maker, she's "proud to offer a great selection of one of a kind jewelry; some that's handmade" in her Rincon studio. Many designs feature seashells, turquoise and other gemstones. All of the stones used are authentic and most are all-natural. Ocean State of Mind also offers handmade bathing suits, crochet tops, ceramic coasters, one of a kind clothing designs and so much more. "I support other small businesses and work with artisans who handcraft genuine products," says Jules. "I make a huge effort to buy in a way that will sustain the culture where the pieces have originated from. I offer a large selection of authentic handcrafted Native American jewelry. Every piece is blessed & given gratitude. Items range from everyday keepsakes to statement pieces. I am very particular with whom I do business with and what items are offered in store." Since 2014, The Ocean State of Mind brick-and-mortar location has been a cornerstone shop in the Rincon Town Plaza, and they are dedicated to offering one of-a-kind pieces inspired by all things water and nature. If you're on the island, you must through Rincon to see them, and in the meantime you can connect with Ocean State of Mind on Instagram and Facebook. The Hola Stickers you see above are available on their Esty store along with other fun island themed stickers.
