We're celebrating entrepreneurship across North America this weekend, with Startup Weekend gatherings in California, Texas and Ontario, Canada. Let's get our Startup Bus rolling for a little road trip that starts on the West Coast, heads east to the Lone Star State and end up outside of Toronto.
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active community leaders and entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. These events are a unique opportunity for developers, designers, and business people to team up and build a startup in just 54 hours. What's cool is that all around the world, there are people that can help you get from zero to a new company by Sunday night. At a Startup Weekend, there are activities that include rapid-fire startup pitches, prototype building, customer development, coaching and feedback by local mentors, a keynote speaker, and some conclude with a Shark Tank-style judging session. This opportunity provides anyone with a challenging, engaging, and risk-free space to test out the great idea that they’ve been hanging on to (or, you can help someone build theirs). But let's talk about each event's sticker real quick before dropping a sweet video all about Startup Weekends.
