Just outside of Santiago de Cali, one of Colombia's largest cities and the only major Colombian city with access to the Pacific Coast, is the town of Jaramundi, which is developing along with Cali (that's what the locals call it) as one of the country's growing economies. So it's no surprise that this weekend we are sending startup sticker love to Startup Weekend Jamundi, a town that rests at the foot of the Farallones de Cali, a range of mountains in Colombia's West Andes. They have a super fun custom kiss cut sticker featuring bright colors, a unique drop shadow on the sticker itself and of course the Startup Weekend branding with a little local flare. We really dig the paper airplane motif, because since it's a Startup Weekend, the ideas will be flying (and we hope landing!). This community has brought together a sweet list of speakers and a full schedule, and there will be plenty of ideas and developing and pitching and mentoring going on all weekend. After all, it's all about: Pitch. Build. Launch.
Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event that brings together Jamundí designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains to do amazing things.
All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and embark on a three-day frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback!
If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur and contribute to a more sustainable world, be part of Startup Weekend Jamundí.
