Startup Weekend for Youth

On the Sunshine Coast of Queensland on Australia's northeastern shore (home of the Great Barrier Reef) young entrepreneurs gather at Startup Weekend Youth Sunshine Coast, and custom circle stickers will be making the trip Down Under.

They went with a coastal theme, with a small strip of blue for the water, yellow for the beach and sunshine and then a lush green background along with the Startup Weekend logo. This design will pop off of laptops and notebooks for each student that attends. What's unique about the Techstars events is that they teach the “Lean Startup” process. Participants will come up with their own ideas, create teams around those interests, research potential customers and then work collaboratively to build working model that demonstrates the potential of their business. This spot has become a central of gravity for startup activities where collaboration and innovation is the name of the game. Adult coaches will be working with teams as mentors throughout the weekend, but every team will be expected to manage itself in order to optimize time and get their ideas to the pitch competition where teams present their business to a panel of local entrepreneurs.
