Startup Weekend Chicago Maker Edition 2017
Startup-Weekend-Chicago-Maker-2017-sponsored-die-cut-sticker-blog This weekend the City of Broad Shoulders will be hosting Startup Weekend Chicago Maker Edition, where participants will pitch startup ideas that include the development of a physical product or software and the delivery system. Successful startups will leverage a team of diverse skill sets that include business, marketing, tech development, and design. The die cut sticker that the team designed really uses our custom shape option to its full potential, with a massive robot towering over the skyscaper-filled skyline of Chicago. And forming the head? The classic startup weekend beaker. Then they use the city street level for the text that promotes the event. With a simple black-and-white vector treatment, this sticker will pop off laptops and just about anywhere, and the custom shape lets the design shine. We are sponsoring another Maker based Startup Weekend in France this weekend, so clearly it's a popular Startup Weekend theme. Like we said in that other post, Maker culture is sweeping the globe with its technology-DIY aesthetic. By combining open-source hardware and engineering-based tools like electronics, robotics, and 3-D printing, there goal is for makers to learn skills and apply them to the real word. This year's event has partnered with mHUB, Chicago’s first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing. Therein, participants will have access to 63,000 square feet of state-of-the-art machines, workspace, and material. mHUB helps focus Chicago's manufacturing ecosystem into a space that attracts world class talent to drive greater productivity and problem solving. Huge thanks to all sponsors, mentors, judges and organizers for making this weekend happen for all participants. We look forward to seeing what you build.
