The inaugural Longmont Startup Week is now live, and we’re over the moon that our community has gathered together to celebrate and innovate in our hometown. After all, Longmont is where the StickerGiant story started. You can find our stickers in the blue Longmont Startup Week bags for all attendees.

Eric Wallace, CEO of Left Hand Brewery (home of delicious Nitro Milk Stout, known as America’s Stout), helped kick off the event on Monday morning at the Xilinx Retreat Center, where many of the week’s events will be held. He spoke about the supportive brewing atmosphere and innovation culture in Longmont, and he shared stories relocating back to Colorado—he spent time here as an Air Force kid and attended the Academy in the Springs—and growing the Front Range into the Napa Valley of Craft Beer.

His keynote speech covered a range of topics, from Colorado’s liquor law structure and great water quality to Longmont’s pro-business climate and local passion for craft beer. Eric’s story is a great one, and this week will feature these types of stories at free events all around town. The tracks are grouped around the following topics:

  • Start It
  • Fund It
  • Manage It
  • Sell It
  • Explore It
  • Enjoy It

We’ll post small updates as we head attend events throughout Longmont Startup Week. In fact, John Fischer, StickerGiant CEO, will be presenting on Thursday, June 4th at 3:30 . His topic is called Open Book Management: Creating An Invested Workforce, and John will share his experiences growing StickerGiant's business while outlining a specific action plan and providing real resources for you to tailor for your own needs. In addition, it is an opportunity for you to meet other entrepreneurs, get answers, present your own ideas, and work on your own Open Book Management business structure with your team.

If your weekdays are busy, there are evening events at various bars and venues around town. If you are anywhere in the Denver Metro area, Come on out and share your stories. As a sponsor of this event, we are among some good company, and we salute all of the organizers and sponsors as we kick off a week of business and community.
