Humboldt Republic's Seven O Seven sticker is another great example of the impact of a clean black and white design. The fine horizontal line pattern gets your eyes vibrating while the crest's thick outline provides dimension, popping it off the background. The logo script uses a hard-edged white outer glow to separate it from the gray mezzotint.
All-in-all, it's a great tribute to Humbolt County, the Northern California home of tall trees, big bears, crashing surf, the 707 and Humbolt Republic, a Eureka-based purveyor of fine screen printing and awesome clothing designs.
Designers that work in the screen printing field must quickly adapt to the limitations of single (and limited spot) color design. It's not an easy task, but Humbolt Republic does it exceedingly well, with a line of high-impact hoodies, t-shirts, and tanks.Seven Oh Seven
