Puerto Viejo: Keep It Local

"Puerto Viejo" and "Keep it Local" reads the sticker, which sounds like a plea to stay away from the Costa Rican resort town. It's in a "natural" state right now, catering to adventurers but not really to tourists. There are plans for development, and that has the sticker maker worried; I'm guessing it's a surfer, yeah? According to Google and Youtube, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is one of the best places to surf in Costa Rica. So, basically, don't go there. It's gorgeous, nearly unspoiled. It's not commercialized. It's not overrun by tourists. It's got golden sand beaches and unpaved roads. Wait, what? Unpaved roads? I dunno. I kinda feel like, if a few hotels and a marina gets the roads paved, maybe development ain't so bad after all. So I'm not sure I can agree with this sticker.
