Let’s jump into Top of Mind, where everyone shared their favorites.

Top of Mind

Hamish's Top of Mind was a few designs of different sticker sheets. We used a fair amount of these getting the wall totally plastered, and we love sticker sheets for so many reasons. Let us count the ways...
  • Great way to print multiple designs on one sheet
  • You can add logos, catch phrases, or mascots
  • Unique use for labels if you have multiple products
  • Giveaways with products or in subscription boxes
  • Very popular with kids, as brands often use sticker sheets because you can fit so many designs onto one sheet, maximizing the fun.
Hell’s Basement Brewery does this on a really big sheet with all kinds of beer designs. Bottlekeeper went with a unique point of purchase sticker sheet that features a barcode and branding off the actual Got Beer sticker. Blu Anchor has a great retail sticker sheet for a Jeep brand. Check them out below. Good stuff for sure. StickerGiant-Podcast-Stickers-That-Were-Shouted-Out-for-the-Month Chris shared his sticker for Longmont Bicycle Company (go figure) and talked about how they use stickers in the shop, plus some ideas they have for new stickers. Andrew was excited for National Pizza Day, and shared some pizza stickers. Andrew also had to give a shoutout to Johnny Battle for our custom embroidered hats, as you can see Hamish sporting during the show. They came to visit us at the factory to see one of our company huddles and joined the marketing team for our level 10 meeting. As a thank you, they sent us these awesome hats. We were really impressed with the high quality embroidery and the colors look great. Everyone around the shop wants one.

Talking Bikes and Coffee with Longmont Bicycle Company

Now on to the interview of the show, where we talked about Chris' background in cycling and what motivated him and his wife to start the Longmont Bicycle Company. He discussed the challenges of running your own bike shop (spoiler: he doesn't get to ride enough!). One unique thing they've done at the LBC is that they are making themselves stand out with the cafe, and Chris spoke to the developments in their community focus with coffee rides and getting people in the door to talk bikes and drink coffee. Hamish and Chris both worked in the cycling industry prior to their current jobs, so they spoke about stickers in the bike industry and how that industry often throws in a sticker as a add-on to a product for customers, which serve as instant brand recognition. Longmont Bicycle Company prints a Die Cut Logo sticker with us, and they provide them at the checkout and in the bike shop for customers to take home. They have run through nearly 2,000 since opening a year ago. In December, they celebrated a ribbon cutting with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, and they've been working hard to help the community since they opened. Finally we finished off with a bike related question, that Hamish found on the Downtime Podcast, which is a MTB focused show. He really liked this question:
If someone had $100 to spend on improving their bike and/or their riding, what would you recommend they spend it on? Could be new components/ better clothing or coaching?
Listen in to the episode to see what answer Chris gave.

Next Time

We welcome Matt from Georgia Boys BBQ Company. Matt owns and runs two restaurants serving up Southern Style BBQ to folks here in Longmont and in Firestone, and that offer catering services to the wider Boulder County area. He has quite the entrepreneurial story; faced with being laid off, his American Dream was born. His team likes to say: At our house or yours, we are happier than a pig in a mud puddle to be at your table. We look forward to having them at ours to talk BBQ and the restaurant business. As always, the podcast will be available to download in all the usual spots: iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, SoundCloud and Radio Public. Please also leave us a review if you like what we’re doing. It really helps us reach new listeners and means our guests stories will be heard by more people.
