Pete Jokisch from Teakoe Tea Supply Co. joined our podcast Stickers on the Mic to talk about how he came up with the idea for his tea company and how they expanded into canned teas. His company is joining the #ColoradoStrong project to help assist frontline workers during Covid-19 response, and they have donated $10,000 worth of tea to their partner Frontline Foods (among others) to get cans of their popular Pineapple Lemon Myrtle Fizzy Yerba Mate into the hands of healthcare workers, restaurant staff and other essential services during this time. We provided the label support, and they came up with a great design that says "Cheers! To Those Making a Difference."
Give a listen to his story as he shares how he grew the business and expanded the product offerings at Teakoe. They have canned beverages and loose-leaf teas available. They manufacture sustainably-sourced, whole leaf, fresh-brewed and ready-to-drink teas. He started his journey in 2009 at local farmers markets, which led to creating foodservice and hospitality programs for a number of reputable groups including: Troy Guard’s concepts, Mad Greens, Cheba Hut and Punch Bowl Social (just to name a few).
They have created a program to work with commercial foodservice tea programs (hot and iced) for the hospitality industry available nationwide, with their brew-at-home collection of Craft Iced Teas available at Rocky Mountain regional Safeway, Sprouts and Whole Foods Markets among other independent specialty stores.
Most recently, they established an in-house brewery and launched a retail collection of ready-to-drink teas now available across the Colorado Front Range corridor and nationwide via Amazon Prime.
