Get to know us at StickerGiant. Meet Allen.
Allen is many things to the team at StickerGiant. First and foremost, he is the Press Operator. That means he is in charge of both presses that print all our full color stickers and labels. It is not an easy job but he makes it seem that way.
Allen has been working on presses for fourteen years. He previously worked for a company at IBM that ran presses with toner. In-between getting all our customer's jobs printed on a daily basis, Allen spends a few hours every week doing preventative maintenance to keep them going.
Allen is also known as "The Bluebird of Happiness." The Bluebird is part of our Open Book Management Huddle we run every week at StickerGiant. Line by line we run through all the financials for StickerGiant. This is where we review what we have done and where we are going as the sticker producing machine, we are. Allen has arguably one of the most important lines on the board, "The Bluebird of Happiness."
His duties as the Bluebird start by going around and asking employees a question every week. Questions such as, "What are the three most important things in your life?" "What is something you have been putting off but need to do?" etc. The main goal of every question varies week from week but gets all employees to think outside of their daily tasks and appreciate the happiness that comes from waking up and facing each new day. Some employees refer to him as the unofficial StickerGiant chaplain.
In Allen's free time, he is an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Broncos. He loves the outdoors and goes out to enjoy them with fishing, four wheeling, tubing, and camping. Alan commented on his favorite part about working at StickerGiant, "It's the people. It feels like home and the people I work with make it fun."
