Designs by Jillian is an artist in Niwot, Colorado, who loves her charming hometown in Boulder County. In her effort to promote what a wonderful place it is to live, work and play, she designed a fun circle matte label.
Her circle design fits her sticker choice perfectly, with the text wrapping with lines from the top to the bottom of the sticker. The middle of the illustration features a train (Niwot loves their trains), and the mountainous backdrop that defines the Front Range in Colorado. There's plenty of local flavor on this sticker, and it's like a personal ad campaign from Jillian. Niwot takes its name from the famed Arapahoe Chief Niwot (Arapahoe for Left Hand), and it was once a hunting and fishing area for the tribe. Miners came in 1875 and then the railroad followed. The Old Town is now a National Historic District and the history of the rails is still present all around town, as it's a whistle-stop for the BNSF train that trundles through the region.
Designs by Jillian has set up a booth during the Niwot Art Fair in December, just one of many events that the town holds all year round, including the famed Niwot Jazz on 2nd Ave Fest that we've sponsored in the past. During the Craft Fair, Jillian was able to promote Niwot, and people put these labels everywhere, from notebooks to car trunks. Since these labels came on a roll, they were easy to port around, to distribute and to organize.
Jillian has plenty of different art styles on her website to check out, so head over there to get a better sense of her work.
