Manafest releases another rocking album called the Fighter!
Rounding out our week of music-related posts, check out Fighter, the fifth and latest album from Manafest. Or as his third grade teacher probably called him, Chris Greenwood.
Manafest has been organically building his fan base for the last 6 years playing hundreds of shows on three continents and selling over 100,000 records. In 2006 Manafest released “Glory” selling over 40,000 copies, from which the rock anthem “Impossible” featuring Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch becoming a global hit. Following up in 2008 with Citizens Activ Manafest sold over 30,000 more albums and garnered multiple TV and movie placements. The Chase, produced by Adam Messinger (Chris Brown and Brandy) hits with twelve tracks of gritty guitars and aggressive rhymes fusing rock and rap styles.
Way to go, man (afest)! Keep making music! As much as we love how our personal music playing magical pocket computer device lets us listen pretty much anywhere, it does kind of isolate us and the rest of the world from music. Which is more than a little ironic, dontcha think? Not that we need to revive the days of Radio Raheem, but...music is for sharing, people. Remember the olden days? When people would talk just a little bit before breaking into song? And often other people just minding their own business would join them? No, not like this. Like this. Nice to know what the guy next to you was thinking (and how amazing that everyone had such beautiful singing voices!)—But really, it's a wonder anybody ever got any work done.
