We started LIVE FOR THE FUNK in 2008 with the simple vision of having a communal place to rave about the music we love. Since then, other than our look, nothing has changed. You’ll find great, new music selected by people who have a respect for eardrums. Our focus is to consume for the consumer. We sift through the junk so you don’t have to, providing you with only the music we wholeheartedly feel you should be listening to. Unless stated otherwise, every song featured on our site is available for free download.Solid! While we love the founders of funk—Tower of Power, George Clinton, and of course, James Brown—we're digging the sounds of the new crew like DJ Medhi and Sinjin Hawke. Old school, new school, it doesn't matter; just as long as you grab your bop guns and get on down.
