"People ask us all the time how we came up with an idea like portable cocktail mixes," says Founder Cliff Couvillon. "The answer is simple: it all started out of necessity."
You see, Cliff and some of his college friends were deep in the Smoky Mountains on a cold hiking adventure, and they realized they wanted a portable cocktail that brought out the camaraderie and comfort of home. Their attempt started by making a primitive old fashioned with nothing more than orange drink mix, an ancient bottle of bitters, and a copious amounts of whiskey. By their account, the drink was good in the moment, and they realized they could have something great.
Not a bad start for a business, right?
Combining their collective product design backgrounds, love for adventure, and many hours of field research (research as a euphemism for drinking cocktails), they generated their first cocktail mix, The Old Fashioned, in the summer of 2016.
Since then, they’ve added to their flavor library, expanding it to include other classic such as The Bee’s Knees, The Margarita, The Cosmopolitan, The Classic Daiquiri, and The Gold Rush. Their mixes are un-compromised, using only the best natural ingredients, no artificial flavors or colors, and absolutely no preservatives.
