Even though the last Hummer vehicle rolled out of the GM factory in 2010, the spirit of the king of  SUVs—and its lesser-used acronym cousin, the SUT—lives on.

HUMMER 4x4 Off Road provides owners of the big dog an online forum for posting questions, arranging meetups, and sharing their love of the late, great mega-ride.

Launched as a commercial vehicle in 1992, the Hummer was GM's version of the super-tough military vehicle. Like the Jeep was after WWII. Fun fact: the first one went to Arnold Schwartzenegger.

BTW, AM General is still making Humvees for the military. Or HMMWVs in Army-speak—which stands for high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle. The U.S. military has hundreds of acronyms, from A2 to ZULU, that we're guessing makes someone's life easier. Equally fascinating—though much more family-unfriendly and therefore way more humorous—are the myriad slang terms that have come out of our armed forces. Proceed with caution, kids!
