Since the sand bottom beaches of Santa Monica receive reliable Pacific waves all year long and the area is less exposed than other nearby locales, it's an ideal beginner lesson location because it is one of the safest and most consistent surfing destinations on the entire California coast.
Another very part of the business is GO Surf LA surf camps, which run as all day sessions during spring and summer break, and they are perfect for kids and teens aged 5 to 17. They've been running these camps since 2002, and their intensive half-day or full-day surf school sessions help students build confidence and improve their skills quickly. What a great life skill to give to a kid, a passion for surfing and spending time in the water with the proper safety and instruction.
Owner Peter Paris has surfed and taught surfing in Southern California and throughout Latin America including Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In 2005 and 2006 he worked on the X games Surfing Competition at the Mexican Pipeline in Puerto Escondido, Mexico featuring some of the world's top professional surfers.
For three years, Peter has conducted the surfing program for Stoked Mentoring for at-risk youth. In 2008 he was recognized as Stoked Mentoring's 'Volunteer of the Year'. His surf lessons have been featured on national television, and you can check those on the Surf LA site.
The kiss cut sticker that he chose to help represent his brand features the logo that's all over his website and the truck that rolls up to the beach. The sticker itself is 5.5" by 1.5" with the backing slightly larger than the sticker itself. This allows for simple peeling and sticking, and easy stacking for portability. There's the international "Hang loose" or "shaka" sign, but it's in the color red to represent the heart or love emoji though since it's directly related to their surfing brand. It's a subtle, but direct promotion for their lifestyle, and this sticker encapsulates the spirit of their business and their mission: to get people on waves having fun.
