FAA's Maintenance Technician Awards Program

Say what you want about the long lines at the airport (and the pat-downs...watch your hands, buddy!). We are big fans of the FAA's Maintenance Technician Awards Program:

In October 1991, AFS-300 determined there was a need for an incentive program to encourage AMTs and employers to participate aggressively in available initial and recurrent maintenance training/courses. Through the AMT Awards Program, the FAA recognizes eligible technicians and employers by issuing awards to those who receive or promote and foster initial and recurrent training.

Who doesn't love air safety? When you're traveling at 30,000 feet, it feels good to know you can trust the guy or gal who maintains the equipment. Right, Southwest? (ooh, too soon?) Makes us think of the time Louis C.K. was on Conan, making fun of the guy so jaded by air travel that he complains about no WiFi on the plane. Our point? Mechanics of the airwaves, we salute you.
