Music is the pulse of life. No matter your taste, or style, music gives everyone an outlet to escape and often create. M83's inspirational, synthpop music has given that to a lot of people. Now, they are back with a new album, Junk and promoting their album with fun sticker sheets of the album cover art.
M83 is led by Anthony Gonzalez, most notably known for their album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and for their work on the soundtrack of the Tom Cruise film, Oblivion. The new album Junk is inspired by the 70s and 80s with a mix of styles and electronic beats. The featured singles are "Go!," "Solitude," and one we feature below "Do It, Try It."
M83's Junk is released by Mute, an independent record label. A little more on their background,
"Mute was founded by Daniel Miller in 1978, and since then has signed and developed some of the world’s most influential recording artists – including Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yazoo, Goldfrapp, Erasure, Moby and Richard Hawley – and become home to a crop of emerging talent and recent signings such as Josh T. Pearson, Big Deal, Beth Jeans Houghton and S.C.U.M."With the release of Junk, Mute had these custom sticker sheets designed pulling out the fun elements of the album cover to make fun custom shape stickers that peel off. They used these sticker sheets as a promotional item for mailings done around the release of the M83 album. In a digital age of downloading music, sticker sheets are a great tangible item to include in promotions and sales of music. It's not always known what jam is playing on someone's headphones but if they are on a computer, tablet or phone littered in album cover art stickers representing their favorite bands, you don't need a beat to find that rhythm.
